There  are thousands upon thousands of celebrity web sites on the internet today. And while it's very easy to catch the latest info on Hollywood's under 30 pack, I personally have a great fondness for classic Hollywood. When the  marquee lit up for star-studded premiers bringing out the likes of Greer Garson, Jimmy Stewart, Ava Gardner, Cary Grant and Coop. And yes, Gregory  Peck. I'm too young to have experienced that magic, but I can still curl  up on the couch and see Gregory Peck light up the screen and dream about what it was like when Hollywood was Golden.

There's  nothing quite like running to your mailbox and pulling out the  latest issue of your favorite magazine...

They are hard to come by now...these 60 year old treasures. But thankfully, many have survived and below are some Peck tidbits from the early fan magazines.

In his early days of filming he often took along his 850 pounds of bar bells.

  He "eats like a horse."

He was fond of playing poker between takes.

  He took flying lessons.

He collected false beards and mustaches worn by famous stage and screen actors.

He likes conservative, well-tailored suits. But he likes unconservative, load colored pajamas.

He's a good cook. Steak is his favorite...unadorned, seared over a flame, then broiled.

  He loves tinkering with machinery.

He is good with a camera and is always taking photographs.

  He is fond of animals.

He doesn't like too efficient  people, talking about himself or shaving.

  He hates formal clothes.

He answered his fan mail himself. He likes to write letters.

He was determined to learn to speak Chinese and learn to play chess.

His favorite form of entertainment is visiting with friends, discussing theater, music, art, world events, and football.

Brahm's First Symphony is a  avorite. He is also a boogie-woogie addict.

He is moody and gives himself pep talks.

He has no desire to play Hamlet.

He prefers a shower to a bath.

He needs very little sleep, but he does hate to get up in the morning.
